Small loads of
less than £150 are boxed up and sent with a courier.
Larger items are
sent either with our in-house carrier or one of our regular
specialist furniture carriers. Our drivers will take items into your
house as required, but may need assistance on larger items. If this
will not be practical, let us know at the time of ordering or when
booking delivery and we can make alternative arrangements.
Can I specify a time?
We can usually
give a time slot of two hours or alternatively the driver can call
you when he is, say, an hour away so that you do not need to wait
around for a delivery.
For small items
being sent by courier they can be anytime in the day, so please let
us know if it is possible to leave instructions in case you are out.
Can I collect my furniture?
Yes, you can
arrange collection direct from our warehouse. All we ask is that you
give us at least a day’s notice so that we can have the items
checked and ready for when you collect.
Why is delivery more expensive than other sites I
have seen?
Apart from the
small items that can be safely boxed up, we use dedicated vans using
regular drivers to ensure that your furniture is looked after from
collection at our warehouse to delivery at your house. Some
flat-pack furniture can be sent through couriers with a depot system,
to keep the cost down. Unfortunately this does not suit the
hand-made solid mahogany pieces that we supply, as multiple handling
often results in damage and less care is taken of the furniture.
Some other
companies are able to charge less for delivery by charging
considerably more for comparable items of furniture initially. We
believe it is fairer to charge a realistic price for delivery and
allow our customers the option of collecting direct from us or making
separate arrangements for carriage.
Is assembly included?
Most of our
furniture is ready assembled and so assembly is not required. Beds
are delivered in four packages for transportation and are normally
self-assembly. All beds are put together and checked before they
leave our warehouse in order to make sure they can be assembled
easily. If you would prefer not to assemble the bed that we are
delivering to you, then we can arrange for the driver to assemble it
for a charge of £25.
Wardrobes are
generally delivered in one piece but may have to come apart in order
to go upstairs. If this is necessary and we are providing carriage we
will reassemble these in the bedroom without further charge.
